Extreme Makeover Contest as SAS

I'm falling behind, I know, I know.... =)
There is a really good and very explainable reason, but right now, I'm not able to comment on it. Let's just say, it's still maturing.

OK.. I wanted to get my layout posted for my entry in the Extreme Makeover Contest over at Stone Accents Studio while I am still on my break. I know once I get home, it'll be go, go, go... until I fall into bed tonight!

My entry: Baby Feet (feet actually are courtesty of Morguefile.com)
Sorry mom, these aren't Gabe's feet, just a quick substitution

Used the Extreme Makeover Kit
From within-various elements/papers from the following:
Skrapper Digitals
Ambowife Designs
Moondesigns-overlays7 (it is subtle-but I wanted it recognized)
Piggyscraps

I was a bit frustrated on a few steps, but after a bit, it was simply a matter of placement. I loved doing the feet... can you see them? Lower corner of the page!!

I have some CT layouts I still need to post both here and at some forums tonight. I'm still waiting on a couple to get the approval to post my pictures, it is a bit slow and I am unsure why that is, but I have asked about it. I'm hoping there is an answer waiting for me once I get to it tonight!

Movie Night!

Well it doesn't happen very often, but it is very fun to get out now and then and just enjoy yourself and a movie.
Kaly and I were going to go see Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past and my older daughter showed up as we were leaving. So she jumped into the car, with a tish of banter from me to get her to come with us and off we went.

The movie is so cute! There is a lot of laughter in the movie and of course, I enjoy Matthew McConaughey's movies and Jennifer Garner was superb as always.

So tonight, I should work on some digital scrapping ideas that I have.... but I'm busy tonight. =)

I really need to get some cute/cool emoticons to plug in here... until then, you are stuck with my generic smilies and sighs.

Until I post again, God bless!

Working on a new blog layout

This layout is driving me nuts! The background is too cute, but as I have it uploaded to photobucket, unless you subscribe further, they cap you at a max resize and thus... it isn't working as I want it to. I think I am either going to load the pics to my other server or just redo the layout completely...hmm

I've more exciting news..... ready? Wait for it.... I was accepted on another CT!

I received my files last night and of course, got right to it. As I get off work early today, my goal is to get my previous LO's all loaded to the different galleries before I publish my new stuff.

How was everyone's Mother's Day? I know ours was definitely fun and now I call my mom up just to say, "I love you".... totally bugging her on it! =) OK that too, I need to find some cute emoticons for the blog as well.

All right, back to getting ready for work! I'll chat at you later!

All done?

Alrighty... I worked on this during the week, and finally had time to add my shadows and do the size tweaks for webviewing. So here we go.

This was made using Citrus Splash from Moondance Creations!

Happy Belated Mother's Day

Well, I didn't post anything this weekend. Sorry, I was very busy trying to get things ready for my own gift to my mother. I bought a new kit from Miki Ferkel called Color My World. I'm a huge fan of hers and will own all her kits by next year. That is my goal. You really should go check out her stuff, it's gorgeous! There are only a few elements that I used that were not part of her kit, and that would be the greenery in Amanda's and Gabriel's. I cannot recall where I got them, but they were purchased and SFO/SFH friendly and no need to comment on the creator (or else I would!).

I love the red!!! LOVE IT! But it also would go wonderfully with my mother's decor. She's doing colors that are in reds, tans, muted greens... There's a theme I know it.. but alas, it's left my brain at the moment. But anyway... that's why the red background!

Ok.. so I was up late Saturday night doing my best to get my gift done. Originally I wanted to design something for my mom with 3 pictures in the whole. 1 picture per my 3 children to fit on a 16x20 page that I wanted to have printed for her. Yep, she could mat and frame it if she desired. Then I got into it and it didn't look like my oldest would get all dolled up so I could take her pics. Nope, I'm not a professional photographer. Perhaps some day I'll promote myself to "aspiring photographer" but not right now... too much on my plate and not enough funds to make it reality!

So, I thought, I'll do one of my middle child, Kalyssta, and perhaps at Christmas I'll have the other 2 done for her gift. At midnight, my oldest who came by for the weekend surprised me by getting slighly glamoured up (she doesn't like makeup) and said, "Mom... so are you gonna take my picture or not?" And off I went with my digital camera and started snapping away!

My eyes got WAY too big for my britches and time began to tick by through the night. Armed now with about 50 pictures of my girls (I already had choosen 3 of my little Gabriel) I excitedly got to my computer..... On and on my little laptop drooned, whirring away until finally it began to go ever so slowl That meant I had way too much open for the 2gigs of memory to handle. Seperation of my elements began and the pictures took on a new life. My computer also came back to life... well, ok maybe only about 50% revived, but hey, it was enough!

5am came and I had 3 16x20's done of my kids! Gabriel was going to wake up about 7am I just knew it and I had crawled into bed, excited as a child anticipating Christmas morning!!!!

Here are my results... I've found some boo-boos, but that is ok. I'm learning! =)

This is my oldest, Amanda.

This is Kalyssta.

And here is my baby, Gabriel. He's only 2 but if you saw him you wouldn't know it. He stands 38" tall and that was the first week in April 2009! He keeps me going that is for sure. But he is also the real reason I decided on the name for my blog... I do my scrapping at night once he is in bed.... provided I haven't fallen asleep with him first!

Alright, I have a couple other things to do, and I'll get back with another post for my CT with Moondance Creations!

A new blog and an excited Scrapper!

Well I wanted to start off by saying, HI!! I'm making my debute on the web in the digital scrapping world and I'm very excited!!

I am part of a great team and a wonderful designer, Gina with Moondance Creations.

I've been waiting on pins and needles for this kit to arrive, and yesterday it was there, waiting in my inbox... waiting for me to get in and create! The kit? Citrus Splash!! It is a lively, cheerful and fun kit. I knew I had to use my little Gabriel after he'd just woken from a nap. He's so very cheerful whenever he wakes up, so it was an excellant fit!

I especially had fun with the flowers! Gina has some fun elements included in her kit just waiting to be used on your layouts. Spring is here and summer is just around the corner. I have plans on doing another LO by this weekend.... so check back, I'll have another creation showing you what you too can make!

Happy Scrapping!

To Gina.... BIG Hugs!
